Invitation The Trustees and Patrons of Art Works Trust.
Invite you to join us at our Open Day and AGM
On Saturday, June 23
AGM : noon to 12.45
OPEN DAY:12.00 to 3.00
VENUE: Art Works courtyard, Greyville School, Kolling St
(opp. delivery entrance to Independent Newspapers)
Look for the Art Works logo on the gatepost.
Over the past year Art Works has worked intensively with disabled youth &
disadvantaged women, focusing on skills & product development
& HIV/AIDS awareness. The Open Day allows us to share this
with friends & well-wishers and showcases work by ·physically challenged youth from
Mason Lincoln Special School in V Section, Umlazi who attend the Thuthukani art workshops,
and ·the Masibumbane Women's' Group who dream of a multi-purpose training & resource
centre with water & electricity, but currently work in an imijondolo (shack) in
Umlazi's U Section.
Work from both groups on sale, including: Creative alternatives to plastic bags, telephone
wire jewelry, cards & badges.
Art & Craft demonstrations between 1 and 3pm.
Soup & Samoosas & other refreshments available.
